Savage B.P.R.D.: Creatures
Final posting before the Savage Fallout: a creature I created for my Savage B.P.R.D. game.
Nyphler-Spawn
Nyphlers begin life as a cat sized ball of fur with a long tail capped by a puff of fur. They have huge eyes and 3 small legs. Cute, cuddly and adorable, the nyphler hides a dark secret. If given a certain amount of a special food supplement, the nyphler undergoes a metmorphosis, turning from cute pet to deadly predator. The spawn erupts from inside the nyphler, leaving behind a pile of fur and gore. The spawn looks very much like a 3-legged spider with a scorpion tail and needle-toothed maw. Its single multifaceted eye sits at the center of it's spheroid body. Extremely fast and extremely deadly.
Agility d8, Smarts d6(A), Spirit d6, Strength d6, Vigor d6
Parry 5, Pace 8", Toughness 8 (3)
Skills - Climbing d6, Fighting d6, Notice d4, Stealth d8
Notes -
Armor: 3
Bite/Sting: Str + 2, AP1.
Poison: If sting causes a Wound, target must roll Vigor - 1 or take a level of Fatigue. Affected character must make another Vigor roll at -1 (cumulative with Fatigue penalty) or take another level of Fatigue. If Incapacitated by poison, the affected character is paralyzed for 1d6 hours.
Spawn: If the nyphler-spawn takes a Finishing Move action on a paralyzed character, the character must make an intial Vigor roll. If failed, a spawn will begin to develop inside the victim. In 2d10 minutes, a small nyphler-spawn will claw its way out of the victim's chest cavity. The victim must make a Vigor roll at -4 or die. Even if the character succeeds, they are treated as if Mortally Wounded until a successful Healing roll at an additional -2 or the Greater Healing spell is performed on them.
